GIYM & EBAT
In February this year EBAT began an exciting and new partnership with the charity ‘Give It Your Max’ (GIYM).
GIYM is a national charity that aims to introduce tennis to primary school children from inner city and disadvantaged areas. GIYM believes that sport, specifically tennis in their case, fosters a positive attitude and approach to life among children. The primary purpose of GIYM, through tennis, is to encourage, enhance and improve the lives of the individuals it reaches out to. GIYM currently has thirteen programmes running throughout the country – from as far north as Aberdeen down to the southwest in Exmouth.
GIYM shares many of the same goals as EBAT and with the great work Nino and his team of coaches do we can aim to nurture talent and build confidence and life skills through tennis - proving EBAT’s founding principle that poverty is no barrier to the development of young tennis talent.
With the support and generous funding from GIYM EBAT is going to be able to deliver tennis road shows to 24 primary schools this year in the Colchester and Kesgrave areas – taking tennis to nearly 1,000 primary school children who otherwise wouldn’t have had this wonderful opportunity.
Michael Stotesbury, the founder of GIYM, said of the joint partnership with EBAT, “We view this new partnership with the Elena Baltacha Foundation as a wonderful and truly exciting opportunity to reach out to children and to introduce them to tennis and hopefully for them to develop a lifelong love of the game. We are extremely happy to offer our support to Nino and his team at the Foundation and we look forward to growing this relationship through the years.”
