How EBAT changed Joseph and his family…
It is almost two years to the day that Joseph had his free sessions with EBAT at ISC. Chris (his father) and I struggled to juggle life as we both worked full time, and Georgia (Josephs sister) was in and out of hospital having operations. Adding tennis squads to our family life was very tricky and in fact for about a year Joseph only attended one or two sessions a week...
Joe has always been a sturdy lad, he spent most of the first years of his life on steroids for asthma and indeed spent his first Christmas in hospital on a ventilator. In March 2014, Joseph was taken off his asthma steroids by our GP as he no longer needed them, this was difficult as he had to be weaned off them because he has been on them for such a long time. At the same time, Joseph was weighed and he had lost 9 pounds in a year since his previous asthma check up which was great and made him feel much happier. Around the same time, I managed to change my hours at work which meant that Joseph would be able to attend more tennis squads and he started to have individual lessons as well.
In November 2014, Joseph started competing in red ball tournaments, it was a wake up call for Joseph as he realised he needed to up his game. It took allot of hard work, but Joseph has since reached quarter finals and semi finals in several red ball tournaments. Joseph's red ball tournaments are coming to an end now as Joseph will be orange ball from September 2015 and we are all so proud of him.

On a personal note for Joseph, he had his asthma check up in March 2015 with his GP and we were told that Joseph's asthma is very minimal now which is such great news and means that Joseph rarely has to use his salbutamol inhaler. He was also weighed at his check up and has lost another 7lbs!
Joseph loves being part of the EBAT family, he would play tennis 24 hours a day if he could. Being awarded Player of the Month for May 2015 is the cherry on the top for Joseph.
Joseph has also widened his social circle and now considers his EBAT friends to be good friends. EBAT is now a massive part of our family life, we are often found around a tennis court, Georgia with a colouring book and me with my Costa mug!
